Alamo Fast Draw Interveiws Bob Graham

6 July, 2008 (18:57) | Fast Draw Talk Show

Interveiw of the well known gunfighter Bob Graham 4 times World Fast Draw Champ, 4 time National Champ and well know Gunsmith.   Bob Graham : No you said some pretty nice things and I appreciate that. I still compete although it's not as important to win as it used to be.  But it's still something that I enjoy doing and I think most of all it's the people in the sport that you meet that makes it worthwhile.  I travel all over the country and I know people for the last 20, 30, 40 years that I shot with and everybody has a lot of respect for people in the sport.  I guess if your wearing a gun you Gotta have a little respect for them!  You don't wanna say too many bad things about them.  But the competition is fierce and it's fair, fast is alive and well it's not easily found normally but if you look up gunfighter.com then you begin able to find everything about fast draw there is available.  And it can be found on the Internet now that we have the Internet and that's a good thing.  There's also a new Fast Draw shooting event called Hollywood fast draw and it kind of takes off like the Hollywood westerns and you have to use the live ammo gun but you're using wax bullets at different size targets and different distances.  It's similar to what we do in the World Fast Draw Assoc W.F.D.A.  And it kind of evens out the field because you're a sass shooter Single Action Shooter Society they should live ammunition and they can use their own equipment to shoot this event or the style of shooting fast draw but they would shoot wax bullets at targets at close range medium and distant range from the hip and this time shooting site gives them the chance to find out how they compare to maybe a fast draw shooter of the old west of the Hollywood era.  There was a bunch of them back in the fifties and sixties so people of that genre can relate to that and have a lot of fun at it compete and really have a lot of fun it and really enjoy it.  I've been in its own 59 and been working on single-action guns for all of the competitive shooting areas for golly I guess for the past 20 some odd years 25,28 years.  I know a lot of people in S.A.S.S, World Fastdraw Association, Cowboy Fast Draw, Hollywood Fast Draw, Showdown Fast Draw and it's a growing sport and there's a lot of different associations that you can get into of different types of shooting.  But it's completely safe and were covered in our contests by the NRA and that the safety factor, safety is always the main thing that we have to be concerned with an shooting.  When we set up a contest it has to be rigidly controlled by safety factors and a it becomes a nice safe family sport.  We have kids that shoot with their parents, grandparents the women shoot a I haven't found anything wrong with it yet.  I enjoy it!
