Alamo Fast Draw Episode 42 Doug Treadway

Alamo Fast Draw Episode 42

Gunfighter Bob:Something that the other Bob mentioned and I’d like to kinda add to... We have not been contacted here and I guess all over the country… The re-enactors, I think because  we feel that they weren’t really into Fast Draw, as much as into acting. But, I think with the club up there in North Texas, we’re finding out that a lot of these guys that are great re-enactors really want to try Fast Draw, but they don’t want to get rid of their funny guns and their odd ball stances and things like that.

Like when they shoot one shot and then they have egg on their face when they can’t hit the target. So, this event of the show down just gives everybody the opportunity to look good and like Bob said, the sheriff always looks good in that scenario.

We always look better when we’re shooting if you shoot till’ you hit. Even if you only hit one target because if you miss the first shot and then two or three more after that, then you’re manage to hit one and then people say, “ Man did you see how fast that man shot that gun?!” They don’t even think about the fact that you missed that first shot.

Alamo Fast Draw:Yeah, it’s the excitement of the whole thing.

Gunfighter Bob:The whole thing is the excitement and that’s one thing about Fast Draw; that we like about Fast Draw over the years. We’re not tiring the public. The fans are out there and they’re getting excited over and over again. And then when you miss a target at just five feet in front of you they say, “Well these guys are just bobos, they’re not professionals.”And they don’t understand the talent and practice that goes into it and when you’re going too fast for own good when we’re trying to shoot something that close. So, yeah, I think show down is the coming event. I think that the different scenarios that can be done with it and the versatile flock that is admitted is gonna be something is good and is big as fast shooters are. It’s a lot more fun.

Alamo Fast Draw: We got Doug from the Northeast.

Doug:I was gonna say. Uh, Can you hear me?

Alamo Fast Draw: Yeah.

Gunfighter Noah Chance: I’m a re enactor. That’s what we do. I’m with Wild and Willy West and we do reenactment shows and stuff. Chad Rally got me into this; into Fast Draws. I thought I was pretty good with that gun until I tried to hit that target at twenty feet away and then at fifteen feet away and then at 10 feet away. W.C:

Jesse James! [Laughs]

Doug:

Yup. I’m Jesse.

Gunfighter W.C. Hall: Jesse, you also have to remind yourself that it was also snowing that day.

Dough from the Northeast: Yeah it was awful cold that day. I got a bit of frostbite from that day.

Everyone: [Laughs]

Doug from the Northeast: So, yeah guys Jesse James is gonna be in the Fast Draw. So look out guys ‘cuz here I come. And I Fast Draw out of a re enactment posture, And guys when ya’ll came down to North Texas we had a blast when everybody came here and I learned a lot. I learned how to do it according to the rules and the regulations and really it surprised me. But, we had a really good time. I really learned a lot from it. I’m going to be there from now on.
