Alamo Fast Draw Episode 21 part 2
LLedslinger: Greg I heard a couple of people say that you were not going to do this again. I bet you're going to because I think you are getting some good feedback and I would put my money on the fact that you would do this again. What do you think are you ready to give us an answer?
The Famous Greg Custodio: Well you know there are couple of things here, first I had a blast personally from the port of you that I kind of had this idea in mind. It always cracks me up as everybody refers to it as a contest but really what I hear people talking about is what it really was. We just got together and shared fast draw with each other and anytime you put a group of gunfighters together you've got to know there's going to be there's going to be something going on where we are going to go after each other. So that's what we did, my buddy James Barney called it an oddball kind of event. At first I was wondering what he means by that but I really realized it was a compliment you know nobody could prepare for it but I really enjoyed listening to what Bob said because it really was one of those kind of things where, and a lot of credit goes to Jim for the concept. We could all shoot the way we shoot, the guys who really like Cowboy Fast Draw could shoot that way the guys that like, OFDA, WFDA could shoot that way and we just have a blast shooting together and so if people want to have that kind of fun again once a year, I don't know a lot of it is up to Jim. The people that came to share this with us that hadn't seen fast draw before they listened to the stories, every single shooter there you could tell how much they loved fast draw and I think that's what people picked up on. Like I said where gunfighters so any time we get together were going to draw against each other and that in itself lens to, you know Bob had said something about this earlier and Jim said it two and Wes you know we talk about camaraderie. I live for the story as well as the shooting all of that was there and what really made me feel good was after we did our little thing on Saturday and you could tell the room was filled with you know we've really expressed ourselves as a community and there was a nice mix of shooters. The spectators came up and were just you know they're caught up in our mood and that was a wonderful thing. Wes, Bob, Jim, even Paul Jenkins, Larry Shipper out of Vegas, the Georgia guy is who are very good friends of mine and I'm so happy they came we all just started talking and even if you did not know anybody by the time everybody left the ranch it felt like wow there was just a bunch of new friends waiting to meet every just had a blast shooting everything. The showdown thing was all for fun the shoot was for fun but everybody took a serious and they all adjusted well. It was quite exciting to watch, I have to tell you when you look at veteran shooters for people like you and I Steve and even for the brand new shooters that came that were also performing well amongst these veteran shooters it was almost like a clinic we all learn something. Everybody was helping each other you know there wasn't any real conflict you know it was a lot of work but again I never had so many people come up and asked me if I was going to do it again after I had done something but I don't know I'm thinking about it that's all I can tell you right now.
