Tropical Storm Fey and Louis L’Amour
Tropical Storm Fey : Tropical Storm Fey brought to mind a story I read by Louis l'amour a few years back. It was probably more years back than I recall, for the years just seem to go by so quickly. I can't even remember the name of the story but for this article that does not matter. The story was about a gunfighter that ended up in a hurricane along the Texas Coast.
Every time there is a hurricane or storm like Tropical Storm Fey I seem to recall that Louis l'amour story and the gunfighter. I used to spend a lot of time in that area fishing and just exploring. The descriptions in the book were accurate enough that I could almost see some of those areas in my mind. It kind of brought me back to those times the of fishing and exploiting along the coast.
The some of you are asking yourself, why is he reading about tropical storm Fey, it's in Florida not Texas in this site is about gunfighters, fast draw, and western history! The answer is I just felt like writing and this is what came to mind. And for all I know Fey might end up in Texas the way some of the weather people are reporting the possible track of Fey. But locally enough this gunfighter lives on high ground. I always wondered if other people were affected the same way by Louis l'amour's descriptions of places and things, as I often am. I never had a way of asking many people before but now that I have this blog perhaps some of you can help me with that question.
