We are pleased to announce creation of the “Cowboy Six Shooter Historical Foundation”.

Bob Graham, Steve Letsinger and others have been working on this venture for several months. While our plan was to officially announce before the end of the year, recent Hall of Fame creation interest at the Gunfighter Zone prompts this timely broadcast.

The Cowboy Six Shooter is the World wide recognized icon of the American Cowboy.  The words “Six Shooter” were even etched on some revolver barrels at the Colt factory.  In testimony to its lasting legacy, versions of the famous Colt Single Action Army revolver design are manufactured around the World today.

Open Carry In Texas

26 October, 2008 (23:16) | Texas Open Carry | No comments

Texas Open Carry Petition

Conceal and carry aprroved in Texas in 1995. Texas Homicide rate in '95="9.0" (Disaster Centre stats) Texas Homicide rate 'NOW' (2005)="6.2" (Therefore Open Carry would/should make things even better.)  The antigunners at the time had continually screamed, when they heard that there were plans to adopt 'CCW'; "The streets will run red with blood!"

Texas, et al, proved just how ignorant the Anti-gunners REALLY are...!

Just Click on the Texas Open Carry above and it will take you to the petition.

Alamo Fast Draw Episode 41 Shane Part 2

25 October, 2008 (00:11) | Fast Draw Talk Show, Western Movies | No comments

Gunsmoke

Gunsmoke

Gunfighter Bob Crisman: I personally don’t think that Shane had a lot to do with the beginning with the excitement of Fast Draw. I didn’t see it really happen until ’55 when Gun Smoke came out. Shane was an interesting movie just like High Noon prior to what I would consider the beginning of Fast Draw. I don’t consider it had a lot of influence on Fast Draw. That’s my opinion.

Gunfighter Blackbird: Well, I don’t necessarily agree with that. I think it had a lot of influence on the development of technical expertise and arranging gun blazing in film. That may be directly reflected in Gun Smoke.

Alamo Fast Draw Episode 41 Shane Update

Alamo Fast Draw: All right then, I’ll start out with Blackbird. You got little tidbits and stuff for us tonight?

Gunfighter Blackbird: I guess so. Do you want to hear them on the first few seconds of the program?

Alamo Fast Draw: Well let’s just go ahead and start with that and let some people have a chance to collect their thoughts.

Gunfighter Blackbird: I was kind of hoping for five or six minutes lled.

Alamo Fast Draw: Okay.

Gunfighter Blackbird: Do we have room for that?

Alamo Fast Draw: Yeah. We got it.

Gunfighter Blackbird: ‘Cuz that would be good ‘cuz then I can shoot.

Well, I was just meaning to talk about one of the earlier pictures we talked about, Shane. After the dust settles from the last program, I wanted to cover the evidence, finding the reasons to interpret the gun smoking in the gun blowing in Shane. I’m pointing to one particular picture in Guns of the Old West Magazine number 38 which did a special on the guns in Shane or what they supposed at the time they put that article together, were the guns of Shane. They never really get any credit for it, but it’s still one of the most interesting articles anyway. Specially, because they reprinted some of the very best still photographs from Shane. Read more »

Post Turtle

Post Turtle

'Post Turtle'

I'VE HEARD THIS EXPRESSION BEFORE,,

BUT I WASN'T SURE JUST WHAT IT MENT !!

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our president.

The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a ,'Post Turtle' don't ya" ??

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was. Read more »

The Alamo in 1920.

Gunfighter update: Yesterday Bob and I went out and practised together with the newest Showdown system. This was the first time we really used the times to help us with our shooting styles and help to prepare for the Texas Showdown Championship next weekend 10-18-08. We also have some openings still available for the event. If you would like to get more info the the contest here is a link Showdown. found out a few thing about Bobs shooting as well as my own. The time the new system has are not important in the contest but they sure can help you with your practice sessions. I will not give away the times we are shooting for the three target two shooter mode! I might do that on the Alamo Fast Draw Show tonight at 9:00pm Eastern, 8pm Central, and 6pm Pacific.

I also watched Rustlers Rhapsody today and decided I do not have the same since of humor that some of you do or you were all drunk when you watch Rustlers Rhapsody. We can talk that over on the show as well.
